Artemovskii
Artemovskii
city in Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, on the Bobrovka River (tributary of the Irbit). Railroad junction (Egorshino) of lines to Tavda, Sverdlovsk, Serov, and Bogdanovich. In 1968 it had a population of 38,000. Artemovskii has a machine-building plant and is the center of the Egorshino coal basin. The Egorshino State Regional Electric Power Plant was erected in 1922. The city was formed in 1938 out of several mining settlements. It was named in honor of Artem (F. A. Sergeev).
Artemovskii
an urban-type settlement in Primor’e Krai, RSFSR, on the Maikhe River. It has a railroad station (To-paza) 15 km east of Artem. Population 8,800 (1968). The Artemovskaia State Regional Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in Artemovskii. The settlement has a fur farm (axis deer, mink, and fox are raised).
