spring feel

An artificial feel system in which springs are incorporated. The movement of controls compresses or extends the springs and provides the pilot with a control force that is dependent on the strength of the spring and the quantum of control deflection. The force is, however, independent of aircraft speed. See also artificial feel and feel system.
