Parabel’
a river in Tomsk Oblast, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Ob’. It is 308 km long and drains an area of 25,500 sq km. Formed by the confluence of the Kenga and Chuzik rivers, it flows across Vasiugan’e. It is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate 153 km from the mouth is about 90 cu m per sec. High water lasts from May through August. The Parabel’ freezes in late October or early November, and the ice breaks up at the end of April or beginning of May. The river is used for floating timber and is navigable.
