very high-density lipoprotein

VHDL A plasma lipoprotein with a density of > 1.210 kg/L–US: 1.210 g/dl; VHDL is 57% protein–predominantly apoA-I and apoA-II, 21% phospholipid, 17% cholesterol and 5% TGs and transports cholesterol from the intestine to the liver; the larger the HDL molecule, the more efficient the lipid transport and by extension, lipolysis. See HDL.
