A malignancy thought to arise from ovarian epithelium, which comprises one-fourth of ovarian cancers.Clinical findings
Symptoms may be nonspecific (e.g., abdominal pain, bloating, back pain, urinary urgency, constipation, exhaustion) or specific (e.g., pelvic pain, abdominal mass, vaginal bleeding, involuntary weight loss and ascites), a sign of advanced disease.

Other serous carcinomas that seed to the peritoneal cavity must be excluded by history, imaging, morphology and immunohistochemistry.
