papaveretum

A mixture of purified opium alkaloids. Papaveretum has the same painkilling and narcotic properties as MORPHINE and is mainly used for surgical premedication. Also known as Omnopon. A brand name of the drug combined with ASPIRIN and PAPAVERETUM is Aspav. The drug should not be confused with PAPAVERINE.
