[TA] the fibrous band interconnecting the posterior surfaces of the vertebral bodies; it narrows to pass between the pedicles and spreads out to blend with the outer lamellae of the posterior aspect of the anulus fibrosus of the intervertebral discs; forms the anterior wall of the vertebral canal. posterior longitudinal ligament

The continuous narrow band of connective tissue lining the front inner surface of the entire vertebral canal. It attaches the vertebral bodies and intervertebral disks and forms the smooth front wall of the vertebral foramen. See also: ligament
