Vojtišek, Vaclav

 

Born Aug. 9, 1883. Czech historian.

Vojtišek was a professor at Charles University (1928-58). He became an academician of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1952. He was archivist at the Prague city archive (1921-40, 1945-48). From 1924 to 1941 he was state archive inspector of Czechoslovakia. Vojtišek was a specialist in auxiliary historical disciplines (diplomacy, heraldry, and sphragistics) and the history of the Czech city.
