Seeger, Alan,

1888–1916, American poet, b. New York City, grad. Harvard, 1910. During World War I he served in the French Foreign Legion and was killed in battle in 1916. He is famous for his war poem, "I Have a Rendezvous with Death."

Seeger, Alan

(1888–1916) poet; born in New York City. He graduated from Harvard (1910), and settled in Paris, France (1912). He joined the Foreign Legion during World War I, and was killed during the Battle of the Somme (1916). He is best known for his poem, "I Have a Rendezvous with Death," first published in The North American Review (1916).
