a late-winter variety of apple developed by I. V. Michurin, a cross between an Antonovka and a Renet Ananas-nyi (pineapple Reinette). The light yellow fruits are average-sized (100 g) and rounded-napiform, with slightly noticeable broad ribs. The skin is thick, and the flesh is dense, white, juicy, and aromatic, with a slightly acidic taste. The variety is winter-hardy; it bears fruit in the second or third year, yielding 220–270 kg of fruit per tree. The Slavianka is cultivated in the central and northwestern oblasts of RSFSR, in Byelorussia, and in the northern oblasts of the Ukraine.
