Tereshka

(also Bol’shaia Tereshka), a river in Ul’ianovsk and Saratov oblasts, RSFSR. The Tereshka, a right tributary of the Volga, measures 273 km in length and drains an area of 9,710 sq km. It originates in and flows across the Volga Upland, more or less parallel to the Volga. The river empties into the Volgograd Reservoir. It is fed mainly by snow. The mean flow rate 46 km from the mouth is 17.5 cu m per sec. The Tereshka freezes in November or early December, and the ice breaks up in late March or April.
