Velikhov, Evgenii Pavlovich
Born Jan. 20, 1935, in Moscow. Soviet theoretical physicist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968).
Upon graduating from Moscow University in 1958, Velikhov began working in the Institute of Atomic Energy, becoming head of a department in 1962. In 1968 he became a professor at Moscow University. His major works deal with the physics of low-temperature plasma and magnetic hydrodynamics.
