A job with the NHS at pay band 4. Associate Healthcare Scientists deliver scientific/technical procedures and/or clinical care previously performed by regulated practitioners, usually under direction of the responsible regulated practitioner.
In some disciplines, the AHS may work independently, usually as part of a team with practice appropriate for statutory regulation. AHSs are either studying for or have attained a relevant foundation degree or Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC), National Certificate, Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent-level vocational qualification or award.
