Slamet
(Mount Selamat, Tegal Peak), an active volcano in Indonesia, located in the central part of the island of Java. Slamet rises to an elevation of 3,428 m. On the summit are four partially overlapping craters, which measure 410-450 m in diameter and up to 150 m deep. Since 1772, more than 20 eruptions have been observed. All eruptions have been explosive, with ejections of andesite and basalt bombs, ash, and scoria. [23–1648–]
