Palvan Kachal

the main character in presentations of the Uzbek national puppet theater, Kugirchik-uiun. A hand puppet, Palvan Kachal’ was especially popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Always exuberant, he represents the common man and is a defender of truth and justice. He is still popular in contemporary Uzbek puppet theater.
