a small, usually cylindric, molded or compressed disc of varying size, containing a diluent usually consisting of dextrose (glucose) or of a mixture of lactose and powdered sucrose and a moistening agent or excipient, such as dilute alcohol.

tablet triturate

A tablet made by moistening the medication mixed with a powdered lactose or sucrose and then molding it into shape and allowing the liquid to evaporate. It usually disintegrates readily. See also: tablet
