Facilities:74 campsites (without electricity), picnic areas, picnic shelters, hiking trails (5 miles), swimming beach, boat ramps, game courts.
Activities:Camping, hunting, boating (400 HP limit), fishing, swimming, hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, ice skating.
Special Features:Portage Lakes is named after the old Indian portage path that connected the Cuyahoga River flowing north to Lake Erie and the Tuscarawas River flowing south (through the Muskingum) to the Ohio River.
