road-holding position

A designated position at which vehicles may be required to hold (ICAO). The road-holding position marking should be provided at all roads leading to the runway. These markings should be located across the road at the holding position. These markings should be in accordance with local road traffic regulations. A road-holding position light, which may be a controllable red (stop)/green (go) traffic light or a flashing red light, should be provided at each road-holding position serving a runway when it is intended that the runway be used in runway visual range conditions less than a value of 1200 ft (350 m).
