palatine nerve

Either of two nerves, the greater palatine nerve and the lesser palatine nerve, that leave the pterygopalatine ganglion and run down the greater palatine canal, giving rise to branches that innervate the nasal mucosa. At the bottom of the canal, the nerves branch to innervate the roof of the mouth, soft palate, and tonsil. See also: nerve
