Pakhomova, Liudmila Alekseevna
Born Dec. 31, 1946, in Moscow. Soviet athlete; choreographer. Honored Master of Sports (1970).
Pakhomova graduated from the A. V. Lunacharskii State Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1970. She was national champion in ice dancing nine times between 1964 and 1975, European champion six times between 1970 and 1976, world champion five times between 1970 and 1974, and Olympic champion (1976). From 1964 to 1966 she skated with V. I. Ryzhkin. Since 1967 she has been skating with A. G. Gorshkov, and her coach has been E. A. Chaikovskaia. Pakhomova has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of the Badge of Honor.
