Spoil Dumpers
Spoil Dumpers
machines and devices used for transporting and efficiently distributing waste rock in spoil banks. They include cantilever spoil dumpers, transport and dumping bridges, plows, single-bucket excavators (power shovels and draglines), chain-and-bucket excavators, bulldozers, and wheel loaders. Single-bucket overburden strippers and multibucket excavators, which directly transfer waste rocks to inner quarry spoil banks, also function as spoil dumpers. Cantilever spoil dumpers are used mainly in excavating soft rocks in horizontal beds. Single-bucket excavators (power shovels and draglines), plows, and bulldozers are used mainly for transporting rocks to outer spoil banks under any climatic or geological conditions. Chain-and-bucket excavators are used for work on inner and outer spoil banks where deposits consist of soft and loose rock and have horizontal or gently sloping beds.
