Trellis-Post Sinker

Trellis-Post Sinker

a tractor-mounted, mechanized device for sinking trellis posts and stakes in vineyards and trellis gardens. A distinction is made between single-row and two-row types. A two-row trellis-post sinker may also be used to sink a single row of posts in vineyards under repair and to remove unsuitable or damaged posts from the ground in producing vine yards. The working parts of a trellis-post sinker are the sinking arms, equipped with grasping mechanisms that are activated by hydraulic cylinders operated from the tractor’s hydraulic system.

Trellis-post sinkers are mounted on tractors rated at 1.4 and 2 tons-force. Productivity is up to 100 posts per hr. Trellis-post sinkers are manned by a tractor driver and two (for single-row types) or four (for two-row types) workers, who set the posts in the proper position prior to sinking.
