R0264000 (rĭ-zäl′, rē-säl′), José 1861-1896. Philippine reformer and writer. Exiled (1892-1896) for his political novels, he was later arrested and executed for sedition. His death helped fuel an insurrection against Spanish rule (1896-1898).
