Skalistyi Skalistyi a mountain range at the junction of the Ver-khoiansk and Sette-Daban ranges in the Yakut ASSR. The Skalistyi Range extends in a southeasterly direction for 150 km. The mountains reach 2,017 m in elevation and are composed chiefly of sandstones and limestones. The Tompo and Vos-tochnaia Khandyga rivers cut deep valleys. Larch forests cover the slopes of the Skalistyi Range, and mountain tundra is found at elevations above 1,300m. |
