Location:12 miles northwest of Marshall on Highway 122 in Saline County.
Facilities:9 basic campsites, 12 electric campsites, showers, picnic sites, 2 picnic shelters, hiking trails, visitor center.
Activities:Camping, lake fishing, hiking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park land was once the home of Missouri Indians, for whom the state and the river are named. The Missouri inhabited the area through the early 1700s. Predating the Missouri were prehistoric native tribes, whose burial mounds are located in the park. A feature of interest is the "old fort," a six-acre, Missouri Indian earthwork construction of unknown purpose.
