Vankarem

a cape on the Chukchi Peninsula, in Magadan Oblast, RSFSR. The inhabited locality of Vankarem is located on the eastern part of the cape; in 1934 this locality was one of the bases for Soviet pilots rescuing the participants of the expedition of the boat “Cheliuskin.”
