[¦päl·i′vīn·əl ′kär·bə‚zōl] (organic chemistry) Thermoplastic resin made by reaction of acetylene with carbazole; softens at 150°C; has good electrical properties and heat and chemical stabilities; used as a paper-capacitor impregnant and as a substitute for electrical mica.
