[¦päl·ē′yu̇r·ə‚thān ′rəb·ər] (organic chemistry) A synthetic polyurethane-resin elastomer made by the reaction of a diisocyanate to a polyester (such as the glycol-adipic acid ester); has high resistance to abrasion, oil, ozone, and high temperatures. Also known as polyester rubber.
