Strüm·pell re·flex

(shtrēm'pĕl), stroking the abdomen or thigh causes flexion of the leg and adduction of the foot.

Strümpell sign

(1) An older term for the spontaneous dorsiflexion of the foot, which accompanies passive flexion of the thigh on the hip and is an ill-defined indicator of corticospinal tract disease (spinal paralysis).
(2) The inability to make a fist whilst dorsiflexing the wrist.
