RITA

Record of In-Training Assessment. A system of documentation of education of doctors training to become consultants in a particular specialty in the UK, which has been replaced by the Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP). RITAs were intended to develop reliable and valid assessments (of trainees) and accompanying documentation, implement assessments at predetermined points, review results as part of the appraisal process, submit the assessment results to the Deanery Annual Review meeting, and classify the trainee’s performance based on assessment results.
