释义 | Paca, WilliamPaca, William(pā`kə, păk`ə), 1740–99, political leader in the American Revolution, signer of the Declaration of Independence, b. near Abingdon, Md. A lawyer and Maryland legislator, he served (1774–79) in the Continental Congress. Paca was governor of Maryland from 1782 to 1785 and was also a judge of state courts and of a U.S. district court.Paca, William(1740–99) governor; born near Abingdon, Md. In the Continental Congress (1774–79), he signed the Declaration of Independence and paid for troops with his own money.
