Bayne-Jones, Stanhope

(1888–1970) bacteriologist, medical administrator; born in New Orleans. Known primarily for his work as a medical administrator, he held a series of posts at the University of Rochester (1924–32), was dean of the Yale School of Medicine (1935–40), and was president of the Joint Administrative Board of New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center (1947–53).
