(Sheep Raising), a monthly scientific and trade journal, an organ of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR. Ovtsevodstvo has been published in Moscow since 1955. The journal is for zootechnicians, farm directors, directors of sheep-raising farms, and researchers. Its articles are concerned with upgrading herds, finding the most effective breeding methods, establishing feed supplies in various natural regions of the USSR, mechanizing labor-intensive processes, and establishing efficient management. The journal also contains controversial articles on various questions concerning the future of sheep raising. Monthly circulation, 42,800 (1973).
