turbine blades

turbine bladesThe radial airfoil mounted in the edge of a turbine disc whose tangential force rotates the turbine rotor. Unlike the compressor blades, the turbine blades do not follow a particular class of airfoil shape. Their shape aims to provide passage between the adjacent blades, which steadily accelerate the gas flow up to the throat where the area is the least, and the velocity reaches that required at the exit to produce the required degree of rotation. The blades have cooling ducts built into them, and their trailing edges are very thin.
