Overseas Doctors Training Scheme

Overseas Doctors Training Scheme

A training scheme which allows very competent overseas doctors to be exempt from the PLAB examination, so that they can continue their specialist training in the UK before returning home. The scheme is not designed for overseas doctors to remain in the UK after completing their specialist training. The scheme is run jointly by the Department of Health and the medical Royal Colleges, and thus is also referred to as a double-sponsorship scheme.
