Usolka
Usolka
a river in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR; a left tributary of the Taseeva River of the Enisei River basin. The Usolka is 356 km long and drains an area of 10,800 sq km. It flows along the southwestern edge of the Central Siberian Plateau. The river is fed by mixed sources, but predominantly by snow. Freshets caused by rain occur in the summer. The mean flow rate 69 km from the mouth is 21.7 cu m per sec. The Usolka freezes over between mid-October and mid-November, and the ice breaks up between mid-April and mid-May. The river is used for timber flotation.
