quartzed

Of a timepiece, having undergone a quartz conversion in which the clock's interior mechanisms are replaced with an electronic oscillator regulated by a quartz crystal so as to keep time more accurately. I wish I hadn't gotten my grandfather's old pocketwatch quartzed—it was a pain having to wind it all the time, but I loved the sound of it's ticking.
