Established: 1975. Description:Develops, protects, and promotes the 300-mile Overmountain VictoryNational Historic Trail (see separate listing in national trailssection). This trail traces the route of patriots across theAppalachians to the Piedmont Region of the Carolinas where theydefeated British troops at the Battle of Kings Mountain, setting inmotion events that led to the British surrender at Yorktown and the endof the Revolutionary War. Sponsors annual reenactment and provideseducation on colonial life and the American Revolution. Members: 240. Dues: $30/year ($40/year for families; $500 lifetime membership).
