Pulmonology A device used for–dramatic pause–rigid bronchoscopy, which consists of a hollow stainless steel tube, through which instruments are passed; ventilation is usually needed due to tube size; instruments used with the RB include optical telescopes, cameras, biopsy tools, forceps, suction devices, needles for transbronchial biopsies and lasers Note For most applications, flexible bronchoscopy is preferred.
