an urban-type settlement in Keminskii Raion, Kirghiz SSR. Located on the northern slope of the Kirghiz Range, 9 km from the Bystrovka railroad station on the Frunze-Rybach’e line. Population, 8,600 (1973). The Kirghiz Mining and Metallurgy Combine is located in Orlovka.
Orlovka
a river in Tomsk Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Ket’ River of the Ob’ River basin. It measures 327 km long and drains an area of 9,010 sq km.
Originating in Lake Burgunku, Krasnoiarsk Krai, the Orlovka flows through the Western Siberian Lowland. It is fed by various sources, primarily snow. There is high water from May through July. The mean flow rate is 63.5 cu m per sec 29 km from the mouth. The Orlovka freezes between the middle of October and the beginning of November, and the ice breaks up in late April or in May. Timber is floated on the river.
