Location:In southwestern Virginia, parallelling the New River.
Facilities:29 campsites, 3 horse camps, 9 group camps, picnic areas, picnic shelter, hiking trail (é), biking trail, bridle trail, hand launch boat ramp, boat rentals, horse rentals, visitor center, toilets (é), livery, playground.
Activities:Camping, fishing, tubing, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The park follows an abandoned railroad right-of-way, running parallel to the scenic and historic New River for 39 miles. Other points of interest include two tunnels, three major bridges and nearly 30 smaller bridges and trestles, and a shot tower used more than 150 years ago to make ammunition.
