Microsoft Fluent Design System Microsoft Fluent Design SystemReplacing the Microsoft Design Language in 2017, Fluent Design embraces light and depth to move away from the entirely flat look of Windows 8 and 10. For example, Acrylic is a translucent material that programmers can use as a window or dialog background. Unlike Aero Glass in earlier versions of Windows, the translucency is scaled back automatically in power saving mode or if the computer is running slowly. Elements of Fluent Design are being rolled out in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. See Metro Interface and Windows 10 Creators Update.
