[′läj·ik ‚chip] (computer science) An integrated circuit that performs logic functions.

logic chip

A processor or controller chip. "Logic" implies "processing," in which either a fixed operation is performed, or a set of instructions is executed that may vary. The primary logic chip in the computer is the CPU. A graphics processing unit (GPU) is also a logic chip. Contrast with memory chip. See CPU, GPU, logic device and discrete logic.
