Special Features:A 100-acre natural forest surrounds the nearly 200-year-old OakleyHouse where John James Audubon was hired in 1821 to teach drawing toMiss Eliza Pirrie, daughter of the plantation owners. Although thenaturalist and painter spent only four months at Oakley, it was herethat he began or completed 32 paintings featured in his Birdsof America collection.
