Zubairov, Abdullamin Fakhrievich
Born in 1891 in the village of Ishly in Aurgazinskii Raion, Bashkir ASSR; died June 10, 1964, in Ufa. Soviet Bashkir actor. People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1949). Tatar by nationality.
Zubairov began acting in 1911 and joined the Bashkir Drama Theater in Ufa in 1922. The grand old man of Bashkiria’s stage, Zubairov vividly portrayed his roles in national Tatar and Russian plays—for example, Khuzha Nasretdin in Isanbet’s play of the same name, Badri in Galiiabanu by Faizi, Mustafa in Ziul’khabir by Ibragimov, Osip in The Inspector General by Gogol, and Shchukar’ in Virgin Soil Upturned based on Sholokhov’s novel. Zubairov was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and several medals.
