Aitakov, Nedirbai
Born 1894; died 1938. Soviet statesman. Became a member of the CPSU in 1922. Born on Mangyshlak Peninsula to a fisherman’s family.
In 1920, Aitakov became chairman of the aul soviet, then a member of the volost revolutionary committee. In 1921–22 he was member and chairman of the district executive committee. He was a delegate to the First Congress of Soviets of the USSR in 1922 and was elected to the All-Union Central Executive Committee and the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the USSR. In 1923 he became deputy chairman of the Turkestan CEC, and in January 1924, its chairman. After the delineation of national boundaries, he became chairman of the revolutionary committee of the Turkmen SSR in November 1924. In 1925 he became chairman of the CEC of the Turkmen SSR and deputy chairman of the CEC of the USSR.
