Facilities:5 camping areas, including a section for horse camping, showers,restrooms (é), picnic area, boat ramp, hiking trails (13 miles),bicycle trails (15 miles), equestrian trails (35 miles).
Activities:Camping, boating (non-motorized), canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking,bicycling, horseback riding, hunting (with restrictions), cross-countryskiing, snowmobiling, interpretive programs (seasonal).
Special Features:Myles Standish is the largest publicly owned recreation area in southeastern Massachusetts, with 16 ponds and one of the largest contiguous pitch pine/scrub oak communities north of Long Island. Wildlifemanagement areas within the forest are stocked with game birds inOctober and November. In the summer, interpretive programs such as pondshore walks, cranberry bog explorations, and fire tower tours acquaintvisitors with the forest's unique natural, cultural, and historicalaspects.
