Location:In southeastern Massachusetts, on Cresent Street in South Duxbury Center, off Route 3A north.

Special Features:Built in the late 1800s, the monument is a 116-foot granite shaft crownedby a 14-foot statue of Captain Myles Standish, military leader ofPlymouth Colony, and stands atop Captain's Hill, 200 feet above sealevel. When the monument building is open (on weekends and duringsummer), visitors can climb 125 steps to a small viewing area at thetop, but even from the base of the monument the view isspectacular.
