Myklestad method

Myklestad method

[′mik·əl‚stad ‚meth·əd] (aerospace engineering) A method of determining the mode shapes and frequencies of the lateral bending modes of space vehicles, taking into account secondary effects of shear and rotary inertia, in which one imagines masses to be concentrated at a finite number of points along the beam, with elastic properties remaining constant between consecutive mass points.
