MPET levy

Multi-Professional Education and Training levy. A funding stream in the UK for central strategic investment in development of the NHS workforce—e.g., medical and dental students. MPET funding is based on 3 historic components: Service Increment For Teaching (SIFT), for undergraduate medical and dental placements; Medical and Dental Education Levy (MADEL), for postgraduate medical and dental training; and Non-Medical Education and training (NMET), for tuition and student support for NHS funded training. Funding is allocated by the UK Department of Health and managed by strategic health authorities.
